Parrot Mountain and Gardens in Pigeon Forge is an attraction that is great for families because children can hold and interact with the birds. Parrot Mountain and Gardens is nestled on four acres of beautiful, landscaped gardens. Hundreds and hundreds of beautiful tropical birds and thousands and thousands of flowers and plants and trees.
You can see a replica of Thomas Kinkade’s stairway to Paradise. Many birds fly freely, but some are in cages. Many of the tropical birds are on an open perch. Then there’s the secret garden where birds are flying freely, like toucans and silvery-cheek hornbill.
At the end of your bird adventure is the bird garden. It has about 70 birds on open perches that you can feed with your hand and take pictures of. In the lory aviary, you can feed the lories nectar from a cup. Upon exiting you’ll pass a picture-perfect waterfall and benches where you can sit and relax.
Baby Bird Nursery.
The bird nursery, after the waterfall, is another popular area at Parrot Mountain. In the baby bird nursery, you can pet the babies and see them being hand-fed. You can see babies at all different stages of development. You can even purchase a bird to take home. The staff will show you how to care for the bird and how to feed it. They will ship your bird if you prefer since you are on vacation.
